Chief Engineer – Upper Midwest
A privately held and growing local broadcast organization is currently looking for their next Chief Engineer for their market in the Upper Midwest. Ideally, you are a current Broadcast Engineer, Assistant Chief or Chief in a small to mid-sized market. Opportunity to work where you are treated fairly and with respect!

Duties/Responsibilities include (but not limited to):
- Manage all engineering aspects of the technical facility including studio support, post editing systems, field production support and transmission of live/taped events and programs.
- Assist in overseeing and implementing Engineering projects and staffing.
- Oversight would include all technical facilities including Master Control, IT and field equipment including transmitters, towers, repeaters, microwave paths etc.
- Manage the maintenance and repair of all company facilities associated with our station. This includes HVAC, generators, security systems, satellite dishes, electrical, hardware, etc.
- Performs regular maintenance tasks including repairs, equipment replacement, supplies, etc.
- Documents and executes necessary corrective actions and be responsible for keeping station in compliance with FCC Rules.
Qualifications/Requirements:
- Have expert knowledge regarding broadcast news equipment, transmitters, microwaves, satellite, and IT streaming equipment.
- Have working knowledge of the latest operating systems software, including server and desktop operating systems.
- Must be available to work during breaking news situations, severe weather, new system integrations and updates, and provide on call services 24/7.
- Must be able to insert and remove control room rack equipment weighing 25-50 pounds with the help of another employee.
- Familiar with networking routing and IP addressing.
- Strong leadership skills and ability to operate and adapt in high pressure situations.
- Self-starter to lead projects from start to finish in a timely manner.
- Must have 3-5 years in of working experience in broadcast engineering or RF experience.

Pillar Media (Colorado) has recently launched two new radio stations! To continue our growth, we’re looking for an experienced radio engineer to oversee the technical and studio operations of the Pillar Media radio stations in the Denver, Colorado area. The position reports to the Director of Engineering.

- Professional with an excellent track record in radio broadcast engineering, with minimum of five
years’ experience.

Responsibilities/Day-to-Day
The primary responsibilities as part of a multi-location and multi-person team will be overseeing contractors for support of the engineering needs of all Pillar Media Colorado radio stations. Responsible for all day-to-day and long-term engineering and technical management operations of the Colorado stations, including towers, RF transmitters, on-air studio operations, automation systems, and other related broadcast operating systems.

Overview
Salem Media Group in Denver, CO has an excellent opportunity for a Chief Engineer. Our radio cluster is currently searching for a Chief Engineer who exemplifies leadership, achievement and team spirit. Performs equipment maintenance and installation activities in the radio recording studios and live broadcast control rooms to ensure technical quality of sound for programs originating in the studio from syndications or from remote pickup points.
Responsibilities
* Takes transmitter readings and maintains transmitter logs. Monitor overall technical operation of the station(s) to ensure compliance with FCC, Federal, EPA, OSHA and State and local regulation.
* Candidate must be available to work nights, weekends and holidays on occasion.
*Maintenance of equipment at facilities
Qualifications
* High school diploma or general education degree (GED) with additional electronic technician specialized training; five years’ experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
* Knowledge of RF and AM/FM Transmitters and associated remote control systems required.
* Knowledge of and ability to test and ensure back-up power generator systems operational. Support IT Team with troubleshooting and installations.
* Wide Orbit, Axia livewire System, repair of audio broadcast consoles and audio recording equipment, and TELCO systems and remote transmitter monitoring equipment is a plus
*Knowledge of directional and non-directional AM Arrays
