If you ever crack your cellphone display, (and I did severely) more than likely the cell phone itself is still good, but who wants to pay for a new phone these days, especially when they cost 4, 5 or 600 dollars or more? I would encourage you to check out a display replacement service. Here in Denver there is a group who for $120 for an IPhone 5c for example (different prices for different phones), come to your home, replace the display and even include a tempered glass cover. I watched the guy do this, VERY impressive. Saves a lot of money, and you don’t have to have the hassle of going thru the whole phone replacement deal in a crowded store and it take 2 or 3 hours. GREAT SERVICE! Check it out! http://premieriphonerepair.com.
Over the super bowl weekend, before the game, I took my younger sons to a video game tournament here in Denver. Thought I would enter a few of the contests for prizes. Now for a while I have wanted to buy a quadcopter that had a camera so I could play with flying and taking video from one of these “drones”. I actually happened to win one from Davinci Coders, which is a Denver based school for programmers in various programming languages and coding. Here is a picture of the ‘copter I won!
I will be posting some video soon, after I learn how to fly the thing. It also has onboard WiFi, and transmits the camera view to your IPhone while in the air. The IPhone records the received video. Pretty cool system. I can see this becoming another hobby! J
Our good friend Vic Michael, of Mauna Loa towers, who owns quite a few transmitter sites around this part of the country, has one of the BEST Christmas cards I have ever seen. I little late in posting this, but it is too cool to ignore!

My friend Ken, KØUZ just obtained a Yaesu FTM-400 dual band radio and of course, the first thing that you have to do in mounting in one of todays new cars is figure out how to mount it and then get all the power going. He did a beautiful job, and so I thought I would share how great it looks here the article. GREAT JOB KEN!

As of this writing, I have ordered one of these:
The Baofeng UV-5R is a very popular rig these days due to the price of $46 and is available in different colors too. Blue happens to be my favorite, so next month I will let you know how I like the radio. This one is also available with a bigger longer lasting 3800 mah extended battery. There is a users group too that has published a much easier to understand manual than the gibberish one that comes with the radio. Having a programming cable makes it much easier to setup with your favorite frequencies too. If you own one or will be owning one anytime soon check out the site: http://radiodoc.github.com/
